Liberty
Worth was born in the 1970s to ex-hippie parents with a toy invention
business in the beach cities near Los Angeles,
CA
.She
grew up in an inventive, whimsical, and entrepreneurial world where
imagination and play were regular tools for everyday life.
These
days, her world is still wide-eyed, colorful and full of make-believe.
Even though toy design was the family business, it took Liberty
until she
was in college to realize that art and design are ever increasing
passions in her life.
Liberty
also has a
passion for adventure. After
working for 5 years in corporate
America,
in September
2003 Liberty
left her
position as a textile designer for a large manufacturer and is now
devoting her life to working as an artist and designer.
She spends any spare time she can find working out new ideas
for her artwork, creative projects and jewelry business.
Liberty
has always
cited that her influences come from her love of textiles, world
travel, poetry, art history, and dance.
In addition, she now finds that being a new mom brings a whole
new perspective of wonder and inspiration to the creative process.
Liberty
and her family have recently
moved back to
Los Angeles
after 5 years in
Chicago. Though she enjoys being
back, she treasures her memories of the windy city and she knows the
experiences she had there were foundational to her life as an artist.
